Dalai Lama: Renaissance

Narrated by actor Harrison Ford. The winner of 12 awards, and the official selection of over 40 international film festivals.

In 2004, the Dalai Lama invite a group of about 40 of the West's leading, most innovating thinkers to his residence in Dharamsala to discuss the world's problems and how we might get a start on solving them. The interaction became known as the Synthsis Dialogues. What transpired was unexpected and powerful, and captured by an 18 person 5-camera film crew. Featuring Fred Alan Wolf (before he became famous in "What the bleep do we know"), Amit Goswami (from "The Quantum Physicist"), Michael Beckwith (from "The Secret"), national radio host Thom Hartmann, revolutionary social scientist Jean Houston, and many others.

A film by Khashyar Darvich

A very unique documentary, with some unexpected moments highlighting how the human ego can exert a strong influence, balanced and redeemed by inspiring speeches and interventions from the Dalai Lama. In the words of Thom Hartmann "Dalai Lama Renaissance is a fascinating and inspiring juxtaposition of human nature and transcendence."

After the movie, which runs 105 minutes, I would also like to share the interview with the director, as it is very illuminating.

The Quantum Activist

There is a revolution going on in science. A genuine paradigm shift.

While mainstream science remains materialist, a substantial number of scientists are supporting and developing a new paradigm based on the primacy of consciousness.

Amit Goswami, a pioneer of this revolutionary new perspective shares with us his vision of the unlimited potential of consciousness as the ground of all being, and how this revelation helps us to live better.

It tells the story of a man who challenges us to rethink our very notions of existence and reality, with a force and scope not felt since Einstein.

The work of Goswami reveals the overarching unity inherent in the world's major religions and mystical traditions, employing humor and avoiding the complexity of mathematics.

The Celestine Prophecy

If you believe we need a new world view, one that cherishes our best spiritual traditions --but at the same time takes them to a deeper level--we believe this movie is for you.

James Redfield self-published his first book: "The Celestine Prophecy" in 1993 and it became one of the most successful self-published books of all time. It was on bestseller lists in many countries around the world. It created a model for spiritual perception and actualization that resonated with millions of people and focused on the mysterious coincidences that occur in each of our lives. The book uses an adventure parable approach that has been called "part Indiana Jones, part Scott Peck (The Road Less Traveled)". James Redfield beliefs that each of us must intuit his own spiritual destiny.

Redfield's own words describing how to view the movie version of the book:

"If you are like millions of us out there, your investigation of your inner spirituality began with books and scriptures and other descriptions of the spiritual life. Yet what you already know somewhere inside you--and what I believe will be looked upon as the grand insight of our time--is that spirituality is first and foremost a set of elusive and transcendent experiences.

Descriptions are important, and we can look back and appreciate thousands of key testimonies by the mystics of every religion. They after all get our attention, open the door of interest, and tell us what to expect. They take us to the brink, one might say, but in the end we all have to walk though the door ourselves, and open up personally to the real thing.

When we contemplated how to make the Celestine Prophecy Movie, we knew we wanted to show as much of this direct experience as possible in the way only live action cinema can do. In movies, one can not only show emotional looks and reactions in real life situations, one can also to some degree show how characters learn to see the world differently--in our case, how their actual perception changes as a result of a deeper spiritual awareness they've discovered.

You'll notice right away that this movie is different. View it as a typical adventure and youll see it all at one level, but begin to feel it, first with the music, and by grasping what the characters are sensing intuitively, and you'll see what I mean. It's one thing to go on a search for a lost scroll. It's quite another to perceive a whole set of enhanced perceptions and intuitive ability that comes from a deeper spiritual consciousness."

God Grew Tired of Us

This movie is a sobering, inspiring documentary about 3 young Sudanese men who settle in the United States after 5 year of harrowing travel and 10 years in a United Nations refugee camp, during the 20 year long civil war in Sudan.

We follow their adjustment to living in such a strange and new world, which creates the opportunity for sometimes humorous, sometimes humble, and sometimes deep empathic reflections from us, the audience.

As one of the reviews ends " ... they persevere with a stoicism that is almost saintly." You will feel touched many times over by the integrity, authenticity, courage, and strong humanity of these young men. Bring some tissues!
